2. Procedure for vessel's loading, unloading and in dangerous goods transit operations

Shipowners, Ship’s Commanders or ship forwarders shall send the Harbour Master’s Office the D.G. document for all Dangerous Goods picked up, unloaded aboard a ship or in transit, 24 H before E.T.A. or at least on departure of the last port of call preceding the port of Le Havre when located within a 24 h-shipping range from it.

These transport operators shall check that all dangerous goods relevant to specific terms of transport do meet the port of Le Havre dangerous cargo handling requirements. They shall apply to the Dangerous (or Bulk) cargo/safety Office (Bureau Sécurité/Marchandises Dangereuses) of the le Havre Harbour Master’s Office to get prior agreement. Formal agreement given by Port Officers from the Harbour Master Office Department " Sécurité/Marchandises Dangereuses ou Vracs " (safety/dangerous goods or bulks)may include specific orders for loading, unloading or transit operations of dangerous goods.

Forwarding agents shall contact the port officers from the Bureau Sécurité/Marchandises Dangereuses ou Vracs to give them detailed information about the take-over conditions of every dangerous good concerned with a procedure of importation.

Solid bulk carriers shall send 24 H 00 (latest deadline) before they call at Le Havre every information required by B.L.U. code (Bulk Loading and Unloading Code).
